FAQ

Questions R users ask

Everything from daily limits to regulated deployments.

Why not just use a general AI chatbot?

General assistants default to Python and produce R code that looks plausible but mixes idioms from three ecosystems. RCode is prompted, tuned, and tested for R: it follows your style (tidyverse, data.table, or base), and it never answers an R question with 'in Python you would…'.

Does RCode see my data?

No. RCode sees only the code and messages you paste into the chat. Nothing is used for model training.

Which R areas does it cover?

The tidyverse, ggplot2, Shiny, statistical modeling (lm/glm, mixed models, survival), renv and package management, and biostatistics reporting conventions.

Is there an IDE extension?

A VS Code / Positron extension is on the roadmap. Pro subscribers get early access.

What counts as a message?

Each prompt you send counts as one message toward your daily free-tier limit. Pro and Team have unlimited messages.

Can I use RCode for regulated work?

Enterprise plans can include data processing agreements and optional VPC deployment. Contact us to discuss requirements — see our Security page.
